What kind of yarn should I bring?
The brand and color are up to you! The most important thing to keep in mind when picking out yarn for this event is the yardage and the size. You will need over 200 yards to create a beanie for this event. Don’t worry if you do not bring enough yarn we will have some to help bridge the gap to make sure everyone gets a perfect beanie.
On the label of the yarn you should be able to find a tiny yarn symbol with a number in it. Numbers 3-5 will be best.
When selecting yarn keep in mind that if the size is smaller there will be less yardage on the ball. This yarn is a size 3 and has 180 yards of material.
Stay away from funky yarn textures and materials such as the top group in the picture. These will jam the machine. Look for yarn similar to the texture of the bottom group. materials such as acrylic, wool, and cotton, will work best. We will have some back up yarn to make sure everyone leaves with a beautiful beanie.
